俳優のZooey Deschanelとシンガー・ソングライター/ギタリストのM. WardによるユニットShe & Himが、7月22日に新作『Melt Away: A Tribute to Brian Wilson』を〈Fantasy Records〉からリリースすると発表した。
スタジオ・アルバムとしては7枚目の作品となる本作は、The Beach Boysの中心人物であり、来月20日に80歳の誕生日を迎えるBrian Wilsonのトリビュート・アルバム。2015年にはBrian Wilsonのアルバム『No Pier Pressure』にShe & Himが参加したことも話題となった。
有名無名に関わらず2人のお気に入りの曲のリストを元に制作したという今回のアルバム、来月からはそのリリースに先駆けてアメリカでのツアーも開催される。また、この発表にあわせてオープニング・トラック「Darlin’」のミュージック・ビデオが公開されている。
